The story of KumKum Bhagya serial starts with a single mother, Sarla. She had two daughters and ran a marriage hall in the city. Her daughters grew up and her elder daughter Pragya was a kind-hearted girl. A famous rock star Abhi crossed the way and they started to take it negatively. The sister of Abhi, Alia was in love with his friend Purab but he was in love with Bulbul sister of Pragya. Grandmother of Abhi was impressed by Pragya and she wanted a hand of her for Abhi then Alia came to know that Purab was in love with someone and they thought that that girl was Pragya and then she forced her brother to marriage with Pragya and made her life hell and he agrees for the sake of her sister. After marriage, Pragya came to know about this and then she pretended that Purab was in love with her to save her sister Bulbul from them.
